D.I.Khan: On NA-42-South Waziristan, Mulana Jamal-u-Din of JUI-(F), is declared a winner as per the unofficial result, but all the other candidates are alleging that polling station set up in the Gomal University DI Khan and in some areas of Tank and in the Open area of South Waziristan polling station were intrude and polling stopped indefinitely for hours and the Presiding officers were allowing certain voters carrying JUI-(F) voter slips.
The letter carrying the signatures of Jamat-e-Islami candidate, Dr. Sami Ullah Jan, PML N candidate Dilawar Khan Mehsud,, PTI’s candidate Dost Muhamad Mehsud, independent Candidate Abdu Rahim Burki and Brig® Qayum sher and others with out JUI F , has been sent to the Agency Returning officer of South Waziristan in which allegation of major irregularities, mismanagement and rigging is pointed out and demanded re-election.
Allegation raised in the letter are “ the final voter list that was issued to candidates on the 6th of May were not to be found on the election day when the voters went to cast their votes, but new voter list was given to single political party which took advantage out of this.”
In the letter it is also alleged that certain presiding officers on official duty were changed or relocated in the middle of the day due to unknown reasons that was aimed to pay way for rigging.
And certain female polling agents of different polling stations were not provided with the form 14 ( statement of accounts) in spite of their repeated request and were sent empty handedly which is a blatant violation of all rules of ECP and is considered clear cut cheating and rigging.
In the letter it is added that on the polling day the voting book available with the presiding officers were containing photographs of the voters but if the voter was not from JUI, the officer straight away refused the poor voters (since most of them were illiterates) & advised them that their votes are missing from the list, therefore causing utter confusion amongst the voters & eventually the voters were denied their constitutional right to vote as a citizen of Pakistan.
Due to the Operation Reh-e-Nejat, in 2009, the Mehsud tribes become displaced and settled in the District of Tank and Dera Ismail khan and other cities of the country. In 2008, no election was held on NA-42 South Waziristan, for 2013 election the polling station were set up in DI khan and Tank.
