DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Militants on Wednesday dumped the mutilated body of a purported Afghan spy accused of collaborating on US drone strikes that killed prominent warlord Mullah Nazir in South Waziristan this month, an official said. The body of the man identified as Asmatullah Kharoti was found in Wana, South Waziristan Agency.
Local officials said he had been shot dead and there were wounds on his neck. Two notes on the body ordered the remains to be left on the roadside until 10:00am "so that everyone could see the fate of spies", and the second accused him of being a spy and being responsible for US drone attacks. "He is a spy and was giving information to US and ISAF forces in Afghanistan about our activities," the note lying beside the dead body said.
"He is responsible for the killing of five of our senior members, including Mullah Nazir, in drone attacks. He confessed that he installed chips in digital Qurans," the note added. Earlier, the strongest local commander in Wana, the headquarter of SWA, Mullah Nazir was killed in a US drone strike on Jan 2. He was known to be 'pro-Pakistan', focusing his attacks across the border to fight US, Nato and Afghan government troops in Afghanistan, and was accused of sheltering Al-Qaeda. Militants accused Kharoti of giving Nazir a digital Quran, fitted with chips to track his movements, during a meeting at an undisclosed location in Afghanistan. "He presented Nazir and others digital Qurans as a gift which were fitted with chips which help US drones strike their targets," a militant told.
It is worthy to mention that more than five hundred people had been killed in North and South Waziristan agencies under the allegations of spying for US and ISAF during the last six years.

The tribesmen protested in their traditional way by beating drums and chanting slogans in favor of their demands.
They vowed on the occasion their protest will continue till the decision of the WFO is revoked.
Dilawar khan, an elder of Mehusd, now settled in Dera Ismail Khan after oct 2009, told the Frontier Post that the decision of the WFO was unjust and will have negative impact over the livings conditions of IDPS settled in the Districts of Tank, Dera Ismail khan and other Parts of Pakistan.
He further lamented the attitude of others organizations affiliated with WFO in distribution of ration and said thier attitude towards Mehsud tribe was also not good and the IDPs were facing a lot of problems at the Distribution points in Zam Public School Tank, Zafar Abad Colony and Pahar Pur of Dera Isamil khan.
President of the Mehsud Youth, Jamal Hussain, along with other members of the Mehsud Youth held a press conference D.I.Khan Press club and demanded that the decision in reduction of the ration should be taken back, as it will affect the poor IDPs.
Abid khan, an IDP, told The Frontier Post he was waiting for the food-items at the Zafar Abad Ration Centre for the last two days, but unable to receive it due to the protest, adding that he was in dire need of it as he was going out of available food items at home. Khan on Saturday wherein a good number of both the sister tribes of SWA elders participated. The Jirga was aimed to demand their share in the Annual Development program (ADP) like Mehsud and Wazir tribes of South Waziristan.
Elders of the Jirga Malik Razaq, Malik Azam khan, Malik Feroz khan and Malik Muhammad Noor while speaking on the occasion said that a part of the Annual Development Program (ADP) to be allotted for Tehsil Toi Khula of Wana, as thousands of Dottani and Suleman Khels are residing there and remained backward due to the negligence and discriminatory treatment of the government towards them.
They explained there was no existence of basic facilities like education, health and communications in their area.
"We have been kept deprived of our basic rights since the pre independence era but even after independence, we have not been given the status of regular residents of the area" said Malik Abdur Razaq adding that their new generation was going to grow illiterate as there was no functional government middle and high School in Tehsil Toi Khula.
They demanded of the political administration to set up schools and hospitals in Zermilen , Gull Kuch, and Toi Khula aprt from other basic necessities of life.
"We are human beings in the same way as the other residents of the area claim and we should be treated at par with them" said Malik Azam Khan while lamenting the dilapidated conditions of their area.
The speakers reminded that when Owais Ahmad Ghani was governor of KP, he promised to allocate 100 million each year to bring their areas at par with the other areas of SWA but still they were being neglected and treated as 'Zemis'.
The Jirga said, they have also rendered countless sacrifices for Pakistan and protected the Western border of Pakistan, but in return they were given nothing, adding that Dottani and Suleman khel were the most peaceful and land loving people in the whole of the tribal area. The Jirga also demanded to upgrade Tehsil Toi Khulla to the status of sub-division and give Zermalin, Gull Kuch as Tehsil level.
The Jirga unanimously decided if the government did not show positive response towards their demands, they would not hesitate to come on roads and observe a sit-in in front of Governor House and the parliament in Islamabad. They also threatened to migrate to Afghanistan if their demands were not fulfilled after their protest movement.

LADHA: Political administration of South Waziristan started a crackdown against Mehsud tribe following the kidnapping of Gomal Zam Dam workers several months ago.
The administration on Friday arrested around 25 people of Mehsud tribes under FCR clause of collective responsibility. All the markets and business centers of Mehsud tribe were also sealed and several vehicles were taken into custody. An official informed that more raids would be conducted and would continue till the safe recovery of the abductees.
It is pertinent to mention here that eight workers of Gomal Zam Dam were abducted by unidentified people a few months ago. While the banned outfit TTP claimed that they had kidnapped the workers the political agent of the area, Shahidullah Khan, demanded of the Mehsud tribesmen to help release the kidnapped workers of the Gomal Zam Dam. The tribesmen, however, rejected the demand and said that people of Mehsud tribe were living as IDPS in Tank and Dera Ismail Khan and were unable to get in touch with the kidnappers.
The Political administration formed a nine-member committee for negotiation with the kidnappers but to no avail so far.

27 killed in SWA drone attack, Orakzai bombing

27 killed in SWA drone attack, Orakzai bombing.......http://www.thefrontierpost.com/article/201089/

 Farooq Mehsud & Shahzada Wazir
D.I.KHAN/WANA: At least 17 persons were killed and several others injured in US drone strikes in South Waziristan Agency (SWA) on Sunday.
According to sources, US drones fired 10 missiles at two compounds in different localities including Bobar Ghar and Ziarat Baba areas of SWA agency destroying them completely.
As a result of attacks, 17 persons were killed while several others sustained injuries.
Some sources claimed that a key militant commander identified as Wali Muhammad Tofan was also among those killed in the attacks. Tofan was considered as mastermind of suicide attacks after the death of Qari Hussain who was also killed in a drone attack in North Waziristan on Oct, 2010.

The locals stayed away from rescue activities due to lower flight of spy plane creating panic and fright among the dwellers.
The US after a period of calm regarding drone strikes has restarted targeting militants through unmanned planes and recently the pro-government tribal leader Maulvi Nazeer was also killed in such an attack.
It is pertinent to mention here that with the advent of 2013, US and Nato forces had increased drone attacks in the twin agencies of North and South Waziristan and the latest was the third one during a week of the year 2013.
Some of the local analysts were of the opinion that America would intensify the campaign of drone attacks during the year 2013 to clean the area of the militants before US departure from Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, ten militants were killed and several others got injured when Pakistani jet fighters bombarded at militants hideouts in Upper Orakzai Agency on Sunday. According to the reports, two hideouts were destroyed in the bombardment killing 10 extremists and injuring several others.
Local sources said that death toll might rise further as many militants were reported to have been buried under the rubble of destroyed hideouts and condition of many of the injured was also told to be serious.
Local sources had confirmed that security forces had accelerated action in Orakzai Agency against the militants who reportedly had taken asylum in the forests and hilly areas of the restive tribal area of Orakzai.
