Iftikhar terms it a postive symptom

Ihsan Dawar & Farooq Mehsud
PESHAWAR: Banned outfit TTP chief Hakimullah Mehsud said they were ready to come to the table with the government but not to be disarmed. He said this in a video of 40 minutes duration released on Thursday where he himself, his deputy Wali-ur-Rehman and on one occasion TTP spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan could be seen.
An unidentified man could also be seen in the video putting questions on the TTP chief.
Replying to a query, TTP chief said he and his fellow Taliban accepted the offer of the government to come to negotiations.
"We favor dialogue but it is just a joke to ask us to be disarmed," Hakimullah said, adding it was not TTP rather the government had violated several times peace truces with TTP and Taliban.
He declared that Wali-ur-Rehman, the deputy chief of TTP and TTP chief of South Waziristan was like his brother and the reports about their differences were spread by western media and US agents.
He went on to say that Afghani Taliban and TTP were the same and they had sympathies for Al-Qaeda.
"It was TTP who revenged the death of Osama in the shape of attacks over Mehran Base and on FC troops at Shabqadar after his assassination," TTP chief said while commenting on their relations with Al-Qaeda.
He also termed democracy as a system quite un-Islamic and said they only believed in Islamic Sharia.
"We have no sympathies with any of the political parties but ANP, MQM and PPP are on our hit list as they are serving the cause of USA," he lamented.
He said they targeted Bilour as he was staunch opponent of TTP, saying that they would further target high profile leaders of these parties.
Hakim also condemned Pakistan and India for violating Kashmiris right of self-determination and said both the countries were abusing Kashmiris.
"Kashmiris are our brothers and if they need our help we would come to help them anytime," he said.
He also criticized media for showing bias in covering their news.
"We are not given due coverage in the media but we still have soft corner for media," TTP chief said, adding, some of the media organizations were pro-western.
He also in his video bitterly flayed presidents Zardari and Karzai and said they both were US agents.
The video of TTP chief came to the fore when TTP claimed responsibility for three major incidents in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the last two weeks. It is also pertinent to mention here that the government had offered negotiations to TTP a few days back after the assassination of KP Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour in a suicide attack.
Meanwhile, KP Information Minister Mian Iftikhar while commenting on the video termed it as a positive sign and said the government wanted to bring an end to the ongoing bloodshed on the soil of Pukhtuns.
"We don't say they should throw their arms rather we want them to leave the path of violence," Mian Iftikhar said, adding, Pukhtuns could not be forced to lay down their arms.
He said the government was always serious in the dialogue process but Taliban had always violated the treaties between them and the government.

Farooq Mehsud
D.I. KHAN: A Grand Jirga of the three clans of Mehsud tribe held with Political Agent of South Waziristan in chair Wednesday in Political Compound Tank and presented their demands to the administration.
The Jirga headed by Shahzada homayoun popularly called the Prince, unanimously said that the government should clear the
Mehsud area of South Waziristan as soon as possible as they want to go back to their homes.
They said that government had promised during the operation that the area would be cleared with in a few months, but since than 3 years lapsed and they were still living in IDPs status which they did not want any more.
All the three clans of Mehsud tribe said that ADP to be distributed among the various tribes of South Waziristan as per the "Nikat System" under which the Mehsud tribe has three shares while Wazir tribe has one share. The Mehsud also said that delaying the development projects on the pretext that Mehsud tribe is away from their area was unjust and unacceptable.
The Mehsud tribe also shows their displeasure over the displacement of the Mehsud IDPs families from Wana sub-division of South Waziristan.
Mehsud and Wazir are like brothers, and Wazir should have cooperated with Mehsud tribe. They said that Wana is land of Ahmadzai tribe, and they have the right to displace Mehsud tribe, but displacing Mehsud in the name that they were disturbing the peace of the area was not good and had shocked Mehsud tribe as whole.
They demanded that Mehsud were away from their land, so it was government responsibility to protect the boundaries of the Mehsud land, bordering with North Waziristan and Wana of South Waziristan. The Jirga also demanded that alternative education facilities must be provided in Tank and D.I. Khan to students of the whole tribe of Mehsud.

‘As if troubles have seen the way of their home’

http://www.thefrontierpost.com/article/196701/

December 12, 2012
Farooq Mehsud
D.I. KHAN: Tall claims of the government and the so called humanitarian organizations of helping internally displaced persons (IDPs) seems to be mere pomp and show when I visited an unfortunate family living in a tent house about 20 kilometers west of Tank city, with five members blind and one physically disabled due to polio disease but the ill fated family is still out of the sights of the government and scores of the NGOs who have grabbed billion of rupees in the name of IDPs. The poor family has not even got any help in the repatriation operation "Naveed e Sahar" and has to wait for the alms and charities of the locality.
Let's see the inside story of the family called the family of the blinds. An IDP family, from the Kot kai area of South Waziristan, is now living in a tent in the outskirts of district Tank, and faced the hell of life. Gul Nar Jan, 45, blind for the last six years and even his son Awal Mir, a polio patient and his blind- brother Obaidollah Jan 25, Usman Ghani 30, all dependent on one female, the wife of Gull Nar Jan, for their livelihood as there is no male left capable enough to go outside and earn for his family.
"We are living a very difficult life and dependent on the alms of other people, because we are not physically fit to earn livelihood" told Gul Nar Jan to The Frontier Post while telling his sad story. "I am the elder of the family, but physically unfit to support the family and even there is no one other in our family to fulfill the basic needs of our family. My eight years old son Awal mir, a polio patient, is unable to do any kind of work, so we have no way, but to beg" Goll Nar Jan shared with The Frontier Post.
The unfortunate family, living in a tent in Boltan Abad, about 20 km west of the Tank city is lagging behind the government or non-government aid, "One of our relatives brought some aid which he said was from political administration for us, a mattress and some Rashan, because we ourselves cannot go and even, I do not have the National Identity Card, on the basis of which, I can receive aid. We have not received any other kind of aid from government except mattress and some rashan of one time. We are living for the last three years in different areas and facing difficult conditions, Gul continued saying that they need help, if there is some who can help, please come and help us, said Gull Nar Jan with tearing eyes to The Frontier Post.
Bakhtawar Jan, a relative of Gol Nar Jan, told The Frontier Post, " They have no one to care, adding he purchases all their grocery, and support them financially, Political Administration and NGOs are silent on their issue."
When The Frontier Post contacted, FDMA south Waziristan head Said Umar Mehsud, to have his comments on the problems of the blind family he responded thus," we have given them some Aid and we submitted their Data for Further assistance and for National Identity card so that they can get IDPs benefits"
Any how what the case may be, it is a fact that the poor family abounding in handicapped has not been helped by any one so far and is perhaps the most deserving one.
Human organizations, NGOs and government institutions responsible for such like things must have to visit the family and extend their help as the weather is getting harsh and harsh day by day but the poor family of Gul Narjan has to bear the brunt of the weather and if not supported properly. It is feared that the family can face health problems due to lack of proper food and lodging.

An official of the Political Administration told The Frontier Post that seven persons were killed and 10 others injured in the attack, adding that one passerby, an 8-year-old boy, was also killed in the attack.
