D.I.Khan: NA-42 South Waziristan Women Voters will be deprived from their right to vote if polling stations were not given in Dera ismail khan, Tank, Karachi, and also in some areas of North waziristan, Dilawar Khan Mehsud, PML-N Candidate for NA-42 told The Frontier Post. In 2008, there was no election held for NA- 42 due to the military operation Rah-e-Nejat in South Waziristan.
Due to the Operation almost eighty thousand families of Mehsud tribe were displaced to Tank, Dera Ismail Khan, Karachi, North Waziristan Agency and other cities of the country. So far, ten thousands families are repatriated while the rest are living as IDPS in various parts of the country.
Dilawar Mehsud Said That in NA-42 local tradition has often prevented women from voting in the past but the extension of the Political Party Act in 2011, and now the party-based voting in FATA has encouraged the women folk of the society to come to the polling stations.
"PML-N will support women's participation in polling for NA-42 constituency"
Said Mehsud adding that if we want to bring change in the area then we should give right of vote to our women.
In NA-42 constituency total registered voters are one lakh eight thousand and fifty six and Female voter are 39370. So far, there are 17 male candidates who have yet submitted nomination papers to contest election from the NA-42 constituency and no women submitted yet.
