DI KHAN: JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that drone attacks and military offensives in FATA were useless and giving no results for the last ten years.
He was addressing a tribal jirga of Utmanzai Dawar and Wazir tribes of North Waziristan Agency who met him on Monday at his residence. Maulana said US after spending ten years in Afghanistan was looking for back doors to flee from the scene. "America did not succeed to finish those whom they called terrorists even after using its full force" Fazl said, adding, US has now come to the point where talks begin.
He made it clear that no solution to the problem would be acceptable without consent of the tribal people.
"We have put the will of all the stakeholders and now it is the responsibility of the government how it deals with the peace talks," JUI chief added.
Earlier, member of the APC Grand Jirga, Malik Qader Khan and others including Mulana Abdur Rehaman, Maulana Abdul Malik MNA, Malik Mamoor Khan chief of Toori Khel and other elders of Utmanzai Dawar and Wazir tribes lamented the passive behavior of the government and said after all the parties have expressed satisfaction over the peace talks why the government was reluctant to push it ahead.
